Hey Mamas! Spring has just started and the first spring Holiday is approaching; yes, Easter which is also known as Resurrection Sunday. Today we’re going to discuss how to enjoy this Beautiful holiday with Easter self-care hacks for busy moms with teenagers.
Easter is definitely one of my favorite Holidays. It is a time of Celebration, rest, time with loved ones and taking time out to care for myself. Also it falls on Sunday which is my favorite day of the week.
Between egg hunts, family gatherings, and the pressure to create the perfect holiday; I always take a step back to remember the reason for the Holiday. Which is our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. 🙏🏾
It’s easy for moms (especially those with teenagers) to feel overwhelmed. Usually when you think of kids and Easter, the little kids come to mind but, we can’t forget our teenagers; I love to make sure they feel special no matter how old they are; and their things can be a little more expensive. Lol.
But this year, let’s ditch the frantic scrambling and create a calm Easter that prioritizes both family fun and self-care for moms on a budget.

Let’s navigate the Easter hustle with a sprinkle of self-care magic, leaving you feeling refreshed and ready to enjoy the holiday:
Outsource usual “mom” Tasks to your teenager:
- Teenagers as Team Players: Teens are (hopefully!) becoming more independent. Delegate your usual holiday task to your teenagers like; decorating the house, planning and ordering their own Easter outfits, even simple meal prep if you are cooking at home or hosting.
Outsourcing these tasks to your teen will give them a sense of responsibility and they’ll feel good being a part of the process since they are older!
- Easter dinner; don’t feel obligated to do it all: Ditch the elaborate Easter brunch stress! Plan to have dinner with family or friends where everyone brings food because, do we really like to do all that cooking on a Holiday lol, or (My absolute favorite option;) go eat with your mom because she loves cooking and always cooks the good stuff LOL!
- Talk to your teens, get their opinion on celebrations: Ask your teens how they want to celebrate the holiday. Maybe they’d prefer a more casual Easter with decor, food and a little teenager inspired Easter basket. Finding a happy medium that works for everyone will reduce stress and create a more enjoyable experience for the whole family.
Easter Self-Care Hacks for busy moms on a Budget:
- Start your Morning pouring into yourself: Start your day with spending time with yourself. A few minutes of quiet time with God, Praying, Reading a Devotional, journaling, reading or listening to a book, or deep breathing exercises while drinking your favorite coffee ALONE. This sets a calm tone for the day, even if the rest of the house is in Easter prep mode. Apps like The Holy Bible App always provide a VERSE OF THE DAY and have so many plans and devotionals to get your day started on a positive note.
- Move Your Body for Free: Use Free online workout tutorials on youtube, or simply take a brisk walk around the block. Physical activity is a proven mood booster and stress reliever that doesn’t require a gym membership. This is a major goal for me this year, to intentionally move my body at least 30 mins everyday.
- The Power of “No”: Saying NO is something I am determined to get better with this year. Respecting your boundaries and saying NO to things that don’t serve you at this moment is so important and definitely a major part of self-care. Don’t be afraid to say no to extra commitments or social gatherings that drain your energy. Prioritize activities that bring you joy and leave you feeling refreshed, whether it’s reading a book for 30 minutes, soaking in a warm bath or just being ALONE doing absolutely nothing.
Sneaking in other Self-Care Moments:
- Join the Fun!: Embrace the egg hunt with your teens! Don’t just stand on the sidelines. A little playful competition can be a bonding experience and create lasting memories. I’m sure my teenagers (and probably yours too) would get a really good laugh from us moms running around chasing Easter Eggs LOL! Plus, it’s a chance to get some exercise and fresh air.
- Bath Time for the perfect Easter Self-care moment: Once the Easter festivities settle, Take a relaxing bath with candles, put any beverage in a wine glass, and a good movie or book. This quiet time can help you unwind and recharge which is much needed for me especially after being around people all day or Holiday excitement. (Introvert here)
- Spend time with yourself or Your Village: have a coffee date with a friend or for the Introverts (like myself) Have your favorite iced coffee by yourself while watching a good show or Youtube Vlog after the Easter rush. Wind down time is vital for self-care, even if only for a short moment; this can definitely help uplift your mood.

Self-care activities to do during the Easter Holiday with your teens:
Teenagers can benefit from self-care too! Discuss the importance of taking care of themselves, and maybe even plan a relaxing activity together after the Easter excitement.
This could Include:
- Watching a movie together: find a fun family movie to watch together, along with some Easter themed snacks to give the “movie theater” feel and enjoy a good movie while spending family time together.
- Play board games together: Playing board games as a family is so fun! Choose a couple board games that everyone enjoys, have fun with laughter and love.
- Just simply spend time together: sometimes just being in each other’s presence even if everyone is doing their own thing is a good way to spend any holiday. I still love to spend time with my kids even with them being older.
- Gift your teenagers self-care Easter baskets: DIY your children self-care Easter baskets and have a self-care day with your teens at home.
Examples of things to include in your teenager’s Easter baskets:
face masks

Taking care of yourself, even in small ways, allows you to show up for your family with more energy and less stress. So, go ahead, treat yourself to a little extra chocolate (it’s Easter, after all!), and enjoy this Beautiful holiday in peace and on a Budget!
By implementing these Easter self-care hacks for busy moms with teenagers, you can create a calm and joyful Easter celebration for the whole family, all on a budget. Now let’s all go enjoy our Resurrection Sunday/Easter holiday!
