Olapex no.3 Hair Perfector: Starting off my simple haircare routine, I use this product every week to make sure my hair stays strong. This product repairs and strengthens the hair. It is applied before shampooing on damp hair then, I let it sit for about 5 -10 min. Now we move on to shampoo this hair and scalp:)

Shampoo:
AG Balance Shampoo: I use this shampoo every week. It’s an all purpose shampoo, has great ingredients and really gets my hair clean. This product is very concentrated so a little does go a long way. Best used in shower with lots of water.

Olaplex no. 4 Bond Shampoo: I use this one every other wash day. This shampoo feels so good on my hair and gets it clean. This shampoo also helps build/maintain strong bonds in the hair.

After and while applying shampoo (and water of course) your hair should look hydrated. Now we move on to conditioner 🙂
Conditioning:
AG Boost Conditioner: I use this conditioner every week. I detangle my hair with it and rinse it out while still in the shower. Remember to add lots of water!

After conditioning my hair is so hydrated and I stay in the shower to style. Styling in the shower saves time and hair stays wet and hydrated. Now I move on to putting on my styling products to set those juicy curls. Lets look at styling products….
Styling:
Uncle Funky’s daughter Curly Magic Curl Stimulator gel: this gel is Aloe based which I use as my base. UFD helps define my curls and hold them into place along with using lots of water. I’m heavy handed with this gel.
Innersence I create hold gel: I use this on top of the Uncle Funky’s. I Create Hold does just what the name says, Hold! I use a little bit of this gel and it adds extra hold in my wash no go therefore, more days out of my style!
Trapadora bamboo ginseng curling glaze: This gel is the final step. Used as a topper to secure everything else in place, I use a small amount per quadrant. This gel smells good and just helps hold my curls in place.

I know what you’re thinking, 3 GELS! This is the routine I have been following since November 2020 when I first went to see my Stylists and it works! All 3 of those gels mentioned are aloe based therefore, they love water. I love my hair now more than I ever have since going natural. Having a good routine and technique just makes it so much better!

Setting:
Now I just sit under my hooded dryer for 1 hr and my hair is good for the next 7-10 days. To see the hooded dryer I use see my blog post: Natural Hair must haves: tools

Let’s wrap up:
Now that’s my simple haircare routine I follow every week. I Shampoo, condition and style my hair every week which takes about 1hr-1hr 15 min. After styling I dry it for about an hour under my hooded dryer. That’s 2 hours I spend on my hair on wash day and don’t have to do anything to it for the next 7 days.
These products are costly but, they last a long time. When you’re using quality products a little does go a long way. I’m getting many uses out of them. The product that I run out of the most is the UFD gel because, I’m very heavy handed with this one. If You are not sure what products your hair needs definitely partner with a stylist/curl artist. Which is a good investment and will save you time and money knowing exactly what your hair needs. It’s all worth it!!!! I found my natural hair stylist/curl artist using the stylist directory at www.blackcurlmagic.com. The site is owned by 2 natural hair stylists @iamblackgirlcurls. You should definitely go look at their Instagram. These ladies have so much knowledge about natural hair.
So this is how I simplify my haircare routine and product stash:) so, Let me know if this is helpful? Do you have a routine? Are you looking to partner with a stylist? I am a busy mom and don’t have time to spend all day on my hair:). I Look forward to your feedback and comments.
XO,
Andrea
